There is going to be an extra second this June 30th and some websites will have you believe that it is going to cause this year’s Y2K. At 11:59 PM your clock will count to 61 before rolling over to midnight of July 1. While the idea of a ‘leap second’ isn’t as well known as a leap year, this isn’t the first leap second the internet has experienced. In fact, since 1972  there have been 25 leap seconds with the last one occurring in 2012.
